Spring of 2020 – Conceptional Ideas Come to Life on SketchUp
During the spring of 2020 Michael purchased the 3D Modelling Program SketchUp and began designing our 5 Partial Sphere 3 Frequency Icosahedron Dome.
Because of post-COVID inflation rates we are not building the annex and main dome (dome to the left). We have chosen to build the garage and workshop section of the original design, with a studio apartment above to call home.
Two years after he started putting his ideas into 3D form, construction begins with Michael as the one man general contractor.
Michael has designed, researched, organized, been part of or is building every aspect of our dome.

May 14th, 2022 – Ready to Begin
The area is ready to start building.
June 19th, 2022 – Our Temporary Home
We permanently locate our 5th wheel on our property. This is where we will live as we build.
The RV is hooked up to the septic. Water is from a temporary pump on our well. We use a generator until we get our temporary power service.
July 7th, 2022 – Let The Dream Begin
Michael became fascinated with domes when he was fifteen years old.
Decades later he now begins a lifelong dream of building us his personally designed geodesic dome home.
July 7th, 2022 – Surveying Foundation Points
July, 2022 – Building The Foundation Footing Forms – FFF
July 27th, 2022 – Concrete
August 1st, 2022 – Footing Forms Removed
All the foundation footing forms are finally removed.
August – September, 2022 – Building the Foundation Wall Forms
September 19th, 2022 – Foundation Wall Forms Complete
Concrete poured. Forms removed. Foundation walls complete. 5 Big Foots are now 5 post footings.
September 27th, 2022 – Gravel in the Foundation
