Spring of 2020 – Conceptional Ideas Come to Life on SketchUp
During the spring of 2020 Michael purchased the 3D Modelling Program SketchUp and began designing our 5 Partial Sphere 3 Frequency Icosahedron Dome.
Because of post-COVID inflation rates we are not building the annex and main dome (dome to the left). We have chosen to build the garage and workshop section of the original design, with a studio apartment above to call home.
Two years after he started putting his ideas into 3D form, construction begins with Michael as the one man general contractor.
Michael has designed, researched, organized, been part of or is building every aspect of our dome.

Autumn, 2022 – Michael’s Invention – Origin Registration Tool
At the top of the pipe is a shackle Michael purchased on Amazon. The shackle rotates and pivots.
He drilled a hole in the shackle and put a 35ft one-eighth inch thick stainless steel cable through it. He then crimped on a little swage so the cable couldn’t come back out of the hole. Along the 35ft cable he crimped on markers of swages at 14 ft, 17ft, 20 ft, 23 ft, and 29 ft. Each of these swage markers located the position of the inside centre of the hubs.
Basically, anytime Michael pulled the cable out, it marked the centre location of a hub.
Winter, 2022 – Rustproofing the Hubs
Michael used a roller to cover the hubs with grey rustproof paint.

Michael created a colour coding system – spray painting the tip of the hub arms to know what hub to connect where in his intricate design plans.
Simply put – yellow hub arms connect to another yellow hub arm. Blue with blue. Red with red.
