Turkish Bath
After check-in, settling into our new hotel room, I had a Turkish bath.
This is the entrance to the spa.
Inside, I only took photos of the waiting area and the wooden shoes for the steam room. I had to leave my cell phone in the locker.
The marble steam room I sat in was overwhelmingly hot.
Once I had my limit of sitting in the scalding hot steam, I needed to cool down. I laid on a large marble table. This table was central to all the closed steam rooms surrounding it.
The scrub/masseuse woman entered to take me to a separate bathing room for my full body scrub/massage/rinse.
The full body scrub/masseuse woman was Muslim. She wore a head scarf, long pants, and a modest shirt with her sleeves rolled up. Only her feet were bare.
I was wearing my bikini and happy to be wearing it to have some cover.
Modesty was the atmosphere here.
During a recent trip to Tbilisi, Georgia, I experienced their popular sulfur baths.
I was naked for this. I was scrubbed, massaged, and rinsed (with buckets of water thrown on me) by a young, pretty, local woman. She wore skimpy shorts and was braless in a thin tank top. That bath was one of the most non-erotic, erotic experiences ever.
Modesty was not the atmosphere there.
Yet, both were relaxing and a unique experience in their own way.
