Mirissa, Sri Lanka – Morning Visitors & The Garden

Breakfast in the Garden

Our first full day in paradise started with a traditional Sri Lankan breakfast.

As we sat and ate out breakfast at the outdoor dining table, we had a few visitors: a Mongoose chasing after something, a White Breasted Waterhen walked along the pond, a Purple Faced Leaf monkey chilled out in a tree, a chipmunk explored the hammock and a variety of little birds stopped by.

I was thrilled to see the Mongoose, another first to see, for me. Then when the chilled-out Purple Faced Leaf monkey made an appearance, I was in awe.

Before the caretakers left, I had a photo with them, thanking them for their delicious food.

Michael hung out in the hammock while I took photos of the garden then readied myself for our day’s adventure.
