One of the most exciting aspects of our weekend adventure so far is the wildlife.
Particularity, the monitor lizard and monkeys.
After settling into our weekend cottage, we changed and walked the short path to Mirissa Beach.
It was during this walk when awe and beauty showed itself.
The Monitor lizard was first, most surprising, and breathtaking.
This large lizard being the first, first of seeing an animal I’d not seen before.
As quickly as we noticed this large reptile, he/she swiftly made off into the lush green foliage, ever watchful (as seen in my photo) as we walked by.
Next were the many Toque Macaque monkeys who were playing and hanging about in the trees, walking on peoples small homes as well as swimming in the creek along the path.
Seeing wild monkeys, another first for me.
I was thrilled to see a mom with baby tucked into her. The baby looking at me while I took their picture.
This pathway to the beach was also a lush journey of beautiful trees, plants and flowers.
A true paradise.
