Map of Sagrada Familia

Story Of Jesus
The Passion Facade tells the story of the passion, death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus.

Judas’ Betrayal
Following the sequence of the facade, I did not capture a photo of The Last Supper.
I start with Judas’s kiss and the Magic Square.
The Magic Square is said to equal 33 both horizontally and vertically.
33 is the age of Jesus when he died.
Note the snake at Judas’s feet.

Flagellation at the Pillar
This facade was certainly much more grim that the Nativity Facade.
Walking from the interior, we were greeted with a statue of Jesus tied to a column.
However, as mentioned, the sequence of the facade starts before this.

Peter’s Denial
Looking right, this is Peter after he denies Jesus 3 three times.

Ecco Homo – Behold The Man
Ecco homo is a latin phrase, meaning “Behold the man:. This is what Pontius Pilate said to the crowd when presenting Jesus to them before crucifixion.

Crown of Thorns
Jesus is presented to the people wearing a crown of thorns.

Whatever You Are Doing, Do It Quickly
This is a quote dedicated to Joaquim Reial Subirachs about speed and effort of the artistic process when completing Sagrada Familia.

Bronze Door – Josep Maria Subirachs
Another of one of the seven bronze doors created by Josep Maria Subirachs. Some spots are rubbed to a shine as a result of people touching it in blessing.

School Designed by Antoni Gaudí
Adjacent to the Passion Facade is a school building designed by Gaudi in 1909 used to teach the children of the workers and neighbours.

Two Tired and Silly Tourists
Two tourists getting tired, overwhelmed with the crowds and feeling a bit silly as we take a selfie…..
