This morning, as I sit and type this I would say the biggest influencer in my life this year is my Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) therapist with Community Mental Health and Addictions (CMHA).

We’ve been working together for over three years, this last year has been steeped in CPT.

My time with her is filled with laughter, acceptance and support for the person I am. She tells me to never change and continue to be the kind, caring person I am.

She says I am one of the hardest working, most dedicated of her clients.

That’s because I want positive change in my life. I want to be free from trauma responses.

To finally feel, and be at peace.

My Husband – His curiosity, intelligence, creativity, ability to dream and make those dreams happen. As well, his gentle and kind way in the world, especially to animals.

My Parents – My mother instilled a strong work ethic and the Forgeron family’s everything has a place, a place for everything, clean, clean clean! My step-dad maintains his sense of humour while living with chronic, progressive pain. They have a loving marriage and are always there for me if I need anything,

Our Dogs – Vinnie and Pebbles – I don’t have children therefore I feel so blessed how these two rescue dogs have bonded to us and each other. They bring so much joy and happiness into our lives.

12-Step Program & Fellowship – Along with the miracle of my sobriety is the growth of my inner-spiritual life. Also, I’m a witness to and inspired by others who are truly happy, gratitude a mainstay for them.

Friends – A variety of people who are are wonderful, inspiring, funny, and everything awesome!
