Envisioning My Future: 10 Years From Now

Daily writing prompt
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

In 10 years, my 67th birthday will be approaching.

I hope, I pray I am retired from my government job and perhaps have a small Reiki practice up and running.

I have a daily morning exercise and stretch routine. In the summer I swim off our lake frontage. During the winter, I ride the stationary bike or go snowshoeing.

I have beautiful gardens with lots of flowers, fresh vegetables, herbs and berries.

I tend to our forested acreage, caring the creek along one side of our property and the variety of old-growth trees that populate it.

I want to be settled into our life, happy and at peace.

  1. This is such a grounded vision of the future. No noise, no pressure, just a life that feels lived rather than chased.
What stood out to me was how clearly you’ve tied happiness to rhythm, seasons, and small daily habits. Swimming in summer, tending the garden, staying active… it all feels real, not abstract.
A lot of people talk about success in ten-year plans. You’ve described something rarer. Contentment. And that line about wanting to be “happy and at peace” quietly says everything.
I hope life gives you exactly this, or something close to it.

    1. Thank you Munaeem for you beautiful, kind words. After decades of mental health and alcoholism struggles, all I want is contentment and inner peace – a simple life of love with my husband is all that matters now. 🌻💛

  2. Best of luck👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
