Public Schools Teach DBT & Dogs are Allowed to Work on Fridays
Public schools are a business – a government run business because money is the bottom line, not quality of education.
So, as CEO of all Public Schools in the World, included in my changes would be paying faculty and staff a rewarding salary, as well as mandating all schools teach Dialectical Behaviour Therapy Skills (DBT).
These essential life skills start in Grade 1 continuing up to Grade 12, built upon like math skills as the complexity of the skills taught align with the maturity of the students.
Can you imagine a school population where, since Grade 1, students were taught and had to practice :
- Interpersonal Effectiveness
- Emotional Regulation
- Mindfulness
- Distress Tolerance
I think schools, the community and eventually the whole world would benefit.
As well, relaxed Friday in public schools would be teachers bringing their dogs to work with them!
