Meeting Nefertiti: A Journey To Ancient Egypt

Originally Published: November 20th, 2024

If I could meet a historical figure, I would have to travel back to the days of ancient Egypt.

Nefertiti was a powerful woman, an iconic queen of the 18th Dynasty of Ancient Egypt, an era when Ancient Egypt was at the peak of its power.

For me, she is a captivating historical woman, a symbol of power and beauty.

Not a lot is known about her, yet her legacy persists as a mysterious enigma for study and debate.

Pharaoh Akhenaten and Queen Nefertiti were known for their unprecedented religious reforms promoting worship of one god instead of many.

What was the nature of her relationship with Akhenaten?

Was she her husband’s sister?

What was the true extent of Nefertiti’s political influence?

Did this great royal wife step in as Pharaoh after her husband Akhenaten died?

If yes, she ruled before the ascension of Tutankhamun.

What would life have been like for her; to have so much power, influence and wealth?

I wonder what it would have been like to walk along side her as a rich, powerful ally who had influence that served her purpose.

I was within her inner-most circle.

A friend she could trust, an advisor; one strong woman with influence – collaborating, sharing, and laughing with each other.

Good choice. As for me, I would prefer Ptahshepses, from the 5th Dynasty of Egypt.
Then it would be anyone of the Cucuteni-Trypilia culture, to learn something of its spiritual aspects.
Then maybe Napoleon Bonaparte, a triky puzzling figure.

    1. Aren’t you planning on writing something from the 5th Dynasty? 😊 Looking forward to someday reading it! I’m going to google “the Cucuteni-Trypilia culture, to learn something of its spiritual aspects” – but I’m running so late for work right now! Will check it out later!

Indeed I’m working on one, but I have to navigate many sources, which are often contradictory in nature. But I’m keeping on chipping away 🙂
