Spiritual Growth: From Wildness To Peace

Originally Published: November 19th, 2024

I do now.

For decades I wasn’t able to hear my instincts, that inner truth we all have, to align with my authentic self and spiritual values.

I couldn’t hear my instincts because my nervous system was constantly amped up.

This anxiety a constant – always simmering beneath the surface while monkey-minding my thoughts.

One of my mental health diagnoses is Histrionic Personality Disorder (HPD).

One diagnostic symptom is suggestible and easily influenced.

This looked likes ignoring my instincts, my values and beliefs because I was too busy aligning to someone else’s.

Today, I’m a work-in-progress who has come a long way.

Through prayer and meditation, along with skills taught to me in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), I quiet myself to hear my truth.

I strive for a peaceful, quiet existence so I can hear my inner truth, the inner voice we all have, that light within, connecting us all.

I was once a wild woman trying to walk a spiritual path.

Today, I am a peaceful woman walking a spiritual path.
