5 Principles of Reiki
Just for today, I will not worry
Just for today, I will not be angry
Just for today, I will do my work honestly
Just for today, I will be kind to all living things
Just for today, I will be grateful for my many blessings
As a result of yesterday’s snowstorm that caused a power outage, I am without water.
The power is back on, but water is sourced from a well.
The water pump system is located in a crawl space under the cabin we are staying in.
I am waiting for someone to reset the water pump system.
But, because of the amount of snow from the storm, life up here on this low mountain is slow going.
Exhale.
No water means: no brushing of teeth, no shower, no washing my face.
My before work routine is completely out of wack and I’m all out of sorts because of it.
I’m sitting here, trying to ground myself.
But, I’ve a pile of dirty dishes in the sink, can’t flush the toilet, can’t clean myself.
I need order around me, so I can relax and focus on the task at hand.
If I’m in disorder, I struggle to be grounded.
Especially in my home. My home is the one place where I can have order, a place for everything – everything in its place. Then I have the orderly space to then strive for order within.
I don’t do well when my routine is disrupted.
I don’t do well when there isn’t order and calmness either within or around me.
Help Arrives!
I have water!
Just like that, everything has fallen back into place!
I can create order to have peace within.
I can start my day over with my usual routine.
I can reset, reboot, start again.
Never underestimate the gift of a toilet that flushes!
This morning I am grateful for:
- Electricity
- Running water
- Heat
- Flushing the toilet
- Hot water
- Cold water
- A working fridge that keeps my food cold
- A stove that cooks my food
- Hot water to wash my dishes
- Water to fill the coffee maker
- Electricity to start the coffee maker
- Coffee
- Cold milk from the fridge to add to my coffee
- Electricity to power the internet
- Power for my computer so I can write this blog.
Most notably, I am grateful for the man who crawled under this cabin and reset the water pump.

I feel so sorry for you. I agree we have much to be grateful for when all is working! Especially for the man who reset the water pump to give you water. Think you may start a “new storm list” 🌨 today as it is no fun when we lose power. Have been there and it is no fun! I hope your day just keeps getting better and you feel better. 👵🏻♥️🤗
Thanks mama! 🌻💛🌻
Michael has a high quality generator he is bringing back from Campbell River. No need to buy one, just gotta make it through this winter!! LOL!!!!

Glad it worked out ok – indeed these sorts of events give us pause for thought…
Not so fun in the moment, for sure. It is that moment when the power comes back on, the water pump is reset and I have can flush the toilet that I realize how dependent I am on these services and how utterly out of sorts I am without them.
