Beautiful Coral Reef Fish of the Red Sea

This snorkel was so much fun because the fish were curious and didn’t seem to mind me.

This swim was way out of my comfort zone, as I swam out from the shallow security of the coral reef to beyond its borders that dropped off into deep water.

All I could imagine was a large shark suddenly materializing, swimming towards me out of the endless blue water beyond me.

You see my hands start to backtrack as this fear gets ahold of me.

A Sohal Surgeonfish & My Feet

Well, not all fish were as welcoming…

A Sohal Surgeonfish was quite interested in my feet. So much so, he bit my toe!

The biting sensation was startling, like a pinch rather than a bite.

Later on, I would discover how Sohal Surgeonfish are territorial and perhaps I was standing in his space, so his bite was his way of telling me to leave.

The video truly shows how interested he was in my feet.

My Happy Places

I was in my element snorkelling around the shoreline of the resort’s beach, with its beautiful coral reef to explore.

After, I lay by the water to relax and warm up in the sun before heading up to find Michael at the pool area.
