Aggressive, maybe – but too strong.
Persistent is the best word to describe local tour guides and souvenir sellers.
Souvenir Sellers
Souvenir sellers would follow us around, ask about our family, then offer us the item they were selling for free.
When Michael took the offered souvenir item, the seller would persistently follow us demanding money for it.
Michael called this bluff saying the item was his because it was given to him.
Eventually, Michael gave the item back to the seller. The seller quickly moving on to someone else.
Nothing comes for free in Giza.
The Camel Guy
This tour guide on a camel was calling out to us in broken English to tour with him on his camels.
This tour guide I call The Camel Guy was funny in his playful way he brushed off Michael’s reply of not interested!
