I really like this rule!
No matter how busy Michael is, he will make time for me.
He may not always like to be interrupted, depending on his mood and what he is doing, but he will stop to make time for me.
With 10 tasks simmering on the proverbial stove, he happily stops stirring one pot to move to the other without hurry, worry or fuss.
This is why it is so easy to stop what he is doing for me.
Michael’s approach to getting things done is a blessing but also a curse; not all the pots get stirred, some ingredients might burn and a recipe might sit there for awhile until it is completed.
I am the exact opposite.
I stick to one task and complete it, then move on to the next.
I struggle to stop what I am doing, because my momentum is in full swing.
That said, I will stop what I am doing when he asks for help with a task he is working on.
And just like Michael, I may not always like to be interrupted, depending on my mood and what I am doing, but I will stop to make time for him.
What matters most for us, is we are busy working together, towards the same end goal.
At the end of the day, when we’re tucked into bed, we are with each other.
