Growing up, I was taught not to spend beyond my means.
I had a monthly budget and basically stuck within it.
At times in my life, I worked 3 jobs to stay within my budget.
Now married, Michael he has taught me a new way to save money.
If we can do it ourselves, why pay someone else to do it?
I would argue my time is worth money, but time and time again Michael has shown the empowerment of doing it ourselves – thank you YouTube!
As well, depending on what it is, we look for second hand items online.
I buy some of our clothing at thrift shops.
We repurpose a variety of items we own into interesting usefulness.
When we do buy something of value, I am teaching Michael the virtue of taking care of it.
My motto is if I can’t afford to replace something I’ve paid a lot of money for, I take good care of it so it last a long time.
We rarely eat out, go to restaurants or any form of entertainment that cost money. Everything is so overpriced these days, its not worth it.
We keep monthly expenses to aim to stay within our income.
We’re doing okay.
