We’re into Construction: Year Three of Michael’s Geodesic Dome Home.

The dome is his dream, creative vision, and manifestation as he has single handedly built almost 80% of the entire project.

My dream home manifests in the interior design, like the black bathroom.

But, one day I walked into the bathroom and there was a shrine to Batman built into the once seamless wall.

Yup, my modern, classic black bathroom is now a Bat Cave.

But, it works!

Just another day living with a creative genius!

More will be revealed…

My Husband Is Currently Building His Dream Geodesic Dome Home

My husband, Michael designed and is presently building his dream Geodesic Dome Home.

This chapter in our lives began in 2019 when we bought 5 acres of undeveloped land on a lake.

Currently, the elastomeric membrane will be revisited in the spring to cover over any leaks, and Michael is busy building the second floor.

  1. Look amazing. Why this type of design?

    1. Michael would be better at this explanation. He has loved domes since his early teens. Decades later, he saw a piece of art that was segmented icosahedron shapes. Something like that. It inspired him to design our dome that way.

      1. Neat. Looking at all that construction, he’s very talented. Our neighbour behind us, built a geothermal geodesic greenhouse. It’s probably 20 feet in diameter. Him and his wife grow fresh vegetables all year long.

      2. Nice! A greenhouse is on our down-the-road-to-do list!

      3. I will admit, it’s pretty impressive. All made of engineered composite wood with panels that aren’t entirely see through.(sort of hard to describe). I would say it let’s a filtered light through The design and specifications for the engineered composite, he did all himself.

      4. Sounds interesting and finely engineered. 😊

  2. I’m coming for a visit when it’s complete! 🤗😂

    1. Yes! Be a great place to relax, paint and swim! 🤗🤩🌻💛

      1. It will be wonderful, Stephanie. 🧡😍🌻

    1. Thank you! 🌻🌟🌻☀️

  4. WOWOWOW~ how absolutely amazing! Buckminster Fuller would be proud!!

    1. Thank you! My husband has poured his heart, soul and every cell of his being into building this dome. ♥️

      1. It shows – enjoy the outcome – and may his soul/cell-donations be worth it! xox
