What Would I Do If I Won The Lottery?

First – Michael would get new knees.

Then – I would retire from working in the public education system.

I would help out immediate family by paying off their debts.

I would donate a large sum to animal rescue shelters in our area such as Hope For Wildlife, local dog and cat shelters and horse rescues.

I would hire trade workers to finish our dome home.

Once completed, I would hire movers to bring all our stored belongings to us.

I would give our RV to someone who needed a home.

Michael and I would pack up the pets and travel to Thailand. Our plan would be to stay for a year to steep ourselves in Buddhist traditions, teachings and philosophies.

When we return from Thailand, I would set up a Reiki Practice on our property, in my artisan Zome Studio.

I would pay the thousands of dollars needed to have our property zoned for horses and ignore the rules in our community and have horses anyway. Long story but short version – developer lied to us when we bought our property – saying horses are allowed – when in truth we could not. So, with our millions of dollars – I would do it anyway.

Or, I could take the less headache route and board our horses at a location very near our home.

Michael and I could afford all the cool things for our dome, property and lake frontage that we could not afford before winning the lottery.

Then once all is done on our dome and property, we could relax. Travel when we wanted to.

Live a simple life, free from financial worry.

If I Had A Million Dollars – I’d Be Rich For A Day

First, I would Retire.

Then focus on my Reiki Practice and building a clientele.

Next, get Michael new knees.

Then hire a construction company to finish building our dome home so Michael wouldn’t have to build it himself.

Purchase all the “too expensive for us” wish list aspects of the dome we couldn’t afford before winning the lottery like the type of cladding we truly want, more windows, etc.

Buy a small farm where I could have horses. Buy a few horses and set aside enough money to pay for the maintenance of the farm and property and everything horse related for as long as the horses lives.

Get our helicopter licenses and buy a gyroscope helicopter.

Then, that’s its, the money is long gone!

  1. We had a thoroughbred racehorse when we lived in Ontario. The fastest way to achieve a million dollars, was to start the year with two million. That geodome house looks outstanding by the way.

    1. Thanks! I told Michael your compliment. 😊 Haha! I am sure we’d spend that second million, too! A thoroughbred racehorse. Did you ride or were the owner and had a jockey and trainer? A family friend flips thoroughbred race horses in Kentucky. She buys them green, gets them into shape then sells them. Something like that. She was a jockey years ago but an injury ended her career.

      1. No just! How wonderful! 🌻😊

      2. It was a lot of fun. We enjoyed it.

We eventually gave “Gus” to a retired lady who had a five-area farm near Guelph Ontario to live out his best life. He made a close friend with a donkey. He was like a big dog, he would follow you everywhere out in the field.

      3. Such a heartwarming story! 💛 That is EXACTLY the kind of horse I want! Like a big dog, who, if possible, would also snuggle on the couch with us! Keep your fingers and toes crossed that one day I will eventually own and grow old with a horse like “Gus”! 🙏🏻🐴❤️

      4. Not sure you would want a 1000 pounds snuggling up on the couch. lol. But, I hear what you’re saying. He was a big baby. He had a real connection with our daughter.

      5. Awwww….. 🐴♥️🐴
