The biggest risk I would take is stepping fully into the woman I want to become.
I haven’t been able to up until recently as a result of my journey of healing through Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), Histrionic Personality Disorder (HPD), alcoholism and finally trauma.
BPD’s Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) taught me to align my life to my values, my beliefs. To see the woman I want to become and head in that direction. Opposite action. Act as if.
I’m almost there, meaning I can actually visualize her now.
As I currently work through Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for trauma, I am challenging habitual cognitive distortions that I tell myself that create self-doubt and fear.
When I struggle with distorted thinking, I remember to envision the woman I want to be.
I practice mindfulness to see myself as a calm, self-accepting, confident woman.
I breathe into her. I become her.
A version of myself who is fully aligned with my values, my beliefs.
Grounded.
Confident.
Humble.
Self- Assured.
At peace with myself and all that is, in that moment.

Inspired by Boyan Slat, Founder and CEO of The Ocean Cleanup, I would take a day each month to pick up garbage at a beach.
Not a big risk, and doable.

The Ocean Cleanup
Boyan Slat (27 July 1994) is a Dutch inventor and entrepreneur, passionate about creating megaprojects to address planetary problems. He is the founder and CEO of The Ocean Cleanup; a non-profit organization developing and scaling technologies to rid the world’s oceans of plastic. The organization aims to put itself out of business, with the goal of removing 90% of floating ocean plastic by 2040.
At 16 years of age, Boyan Slat saw more plastic bags than fish when scuba diving in Greece. He thought: “Why can’t we just clean this up?” This question led him to research the plastic pollution problem for a school project. He learned about plastic accumulating in five large oceanic gyres, the largest one being the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. In 2012, Boyan Slat held a TEDx talk about how to rid the world’s oceans of plastic using technology. The video went viral, and the momentum that followed allowed him to drop out of school and found The Ocean Cleanup.
