I have always loved horses.
I have a dream. One day, Michael and I will own our own horse. We, including our dogs, will all grow old together.
I am presently taking lessons at Sunnyridge Equestrian, where I also help out with children’s beginner lessons.
As I learn, all over again, everything horses, my confidence is slowly increasing.
I navigate a Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) mind. I also manage Histrionic Personality Disorder (HPD). These conditions throw curve balls into my ability to relax around people at the barn. This is where I practice Dialectical Behaviour Skills (DBT) skills, so I am successful and gentle with myself.
Another obstacle I am overcoming is my tendency to become emotionally attached to the horses. Nonetheless, I am learning to spread my love to each horse I ride.
Dreams take time.
I’m okay with that because I am growing along the way.

I teach equine assisted learning and there’s nothing better in my opinion. Good luck with your journey I hope you achieve your dream.
Equine assisted learning, how fascinating! Who do they, how do they and what learning skills do the horses support?
It’s similar to what you are currently doing. It’s used to develop confidence, body language awareness, leadership qualities, self calming for emotional regulation. Horses mirror behaviour, so you can learn more about yourself and how to change and improve your own reactions by watching how they interact with you. Plus horses are very soothing to be around.
Sounds to me like you live and work in a little piece of heaven. 🐴💛🌻
I think so, I’m very lucky to get to do something I love all the time 😁
