Supporting each other when the going gets tough has been a challenging journey for Michael and I as we are very different in what we define as and how we deal with stressful situations.
I am emotional.
Having Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) adds to my emotional intensity, however I have Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills to regulate and be skillful when the going gets tough.
Michael is logical.
Most things roll off him like water on a duck; almost to the point where he appears indifferent or oblivious to challenging situations.
At almost 10 years of marriage, we have come a long way in how we support each other when the going gets tough because we accept I am emotional and he is logical.
As well, when the going gets tough, this alcoholic no longer drinks alcohol to cope with it.
I face life on life’s terms – skillfully and sober.
As each other’s best friend, we will always be there for each other, even if we stumble and fall along the way; because one of us will always help the other up with a hand of love.
S, 💙

I so understand how you are feeling with missing your husband Stephanie . I have been a situation quite a few years ago when my husband was on a remote military assignment in Korea and I was back in Florida with my daughter.
I was overseeing a new house that was being built for us.
I was on many days at my wit’s end but it was the love between my husband and I that pulled me through .
You are a warrior and I know you will come through all of your days and you will be all the better for the struggles and life will be beautiful just like your beautiful smile. Sending love
Thank you Margie…..❤️
You are so welcome. ❤️ if I helped I am grateful. Oh, and then my husband came down with spinal meningitis and was in a coma for two weeks and as close to dying as one could possibly come.
He was in the military hospital for three months and I went to Seoul to help in his recovery and here we are today , loving and happy .
