Mi’kmaq Culture – Almost Lost To Residential Schools

I live in Nova Scotia, Canada and acknowledge that I am in Mi’kma’ki , the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People.

Residential Schools tried to eradicate Mi’kma’ki culture, a people who are the original founders of Nova Scotia.

While my ethnicity is of European descent, I am deeply drawn to and have so much respect for Mi’kmaq culture – their reverence and connection to the environment, nature and animals.
