Well, it is official, after Athens, Michael and I fly to Mykonos.
We’ve picked Mykonos instead of Santorini, just because.
Mykonos is known for its beaches, decadence, cosmopolitan atmosphere and non-stop party.
Tourists could find themselves dancing barefoot next to celebrities such as Hugh Jackman, Shakira, and Lady Gaga.
Mykonos is located in the centre of the Aegean Sea with dry, seasonal, strong Etesian winds. During the 1500’s, locals built windmills to produce flour by grinding grain. A few of these windmills still stand in Chora, the island’s main town.
Little Venice is one of the most popular locations in Mykonos. In the 13th century, the island was part of the Venetian trade routes. Wealthy merchants would spend a lot of time in Mykonos and ended up building Italian-style houses there. Today these houses have been turned into bars and restaurants.
We’ve booked a room in a hotel in Houlakia Bay, located 20 minutes from the centre of Chora.
I can’t wait to see what happens!
