Trust Myself, First

Daily writing prompt
List the people you admire and look to for advice…

Advice is everywhere. Everyone has an opinion.

Truthfully, there are not a lot of people I admire. I keep to myself. Trusting others does not come easily, I don’t like to ask for help.

After years of therapy and a world-wide AA fellowship of wisdom, I know there is always another way I can look at a situation that has me out of sorts. Typically, the answer is I am the reason for being out of sorts because something is unacceptable to me.

I have to listen within, to trust what my body is trying to tell me. Is a boundary being crossed? Do I feel unsafe? Am I holding onto a resentment?

I have to see “what is”, not the way I wish something would be.

Acceptance is the answer to all my problems.

However, when I do need advice on something I know absolutely nothing about, it depends on the situation on who I ask.

I’m not going to ask a mechanic for medical advice.

It depends in the situation, indeed!
