Yes, I vote in political elections.
I think it is very important to vote, even when options aren’t great due to a consistent lack of political integrity.
However, voting is your voice, even when choices seem all the same: Greed and power get the money while those who need it most, do not.
Canada’s government is divided into three levels: federal, provincial and municipal. Each level has specific responsibilities that theoretically come together to govern Canada effectively.
- Federal – National and international affairs
- Provincial or Territory – Manage regional matters
- Municipal – Handles local issues and services
I think it is important to know what each level of government is responsible for.
I work in Nova Scotia’s public education system, so I pay attention to political rhetoric during a provincial election; knowing promises will be made and cutbacks are inevitable.
This past federal election, I had hope.
This time round, I believe in Mark Carney.
I have faith in his experience to lead and guide Canada, especially while our neighbours in the south have Trump at the helm.
