Our Geodesic Dome Home: A Journey Worth Discussing

Daily writing prompt
What topics do you like to discuss?

Small talk is about as painful to engage in for me, as getting my toenails pulled off.

I dislike crowds, social gatherings and basically prefer animals over people.

Therefore, this question of what topics do I like to discuss has me thinking.

What do I like to talk about?

Without getting too involved in writing about the skill of active listening, the art of conversation, those annoying, rude, know-it-alls who dominate topics and my inability to focus on a conversation within a busy room, I’d say I am rather at a loss of what I like to talk about.

Thinking….

I do like to talk about our dome home now that we are at the exciting phase of occupancy permit and steps towards moving in. Our black bathroom with free-standing white bath tub. The waterproof, floating flooring that I absolutely adore called Dockside – it’s a rugged grey that looks like old, weathered wharf boards that matches so well with the yellow and green painted walls. Yellow for the sun. Green for trees. Grey flooring for tree trunks. Our 360 degree rotating, cylindrical wood stove where we can turn to watch the fire while in our bedroom or kitchen or when visitors walk up the stairs. Our new refrigerator, induction stove, dishwasher and microwave range. My new set of induction pots. And so on….

While the journey to this point has not been easy on each other, our marriage and our finances – we are now starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
