Which animal do I compare myself to?
I have a great story about this.
In 1997, I attended a 28 day program for my alcoholism.
This was my first introduction to therapy of any kind and I finally find words to match the emotions locked deep within my heart.
During a group therapy session, the therapist Marina asked each participant basically the same question as this Daily Prompt:
If you were an animal, what animal would you be?
Most answered a dog or cat.
When it was my turn, I remember I dug deep within to bravely answer differently and said loudly:
I am a tiger, hear me roar!
I had finally found my true, authentic voice.
Not long after that program, I was working at a department store and purchased a pin of a tiger.
29 years later, I still have that pin – in my Jeep Wrangler – as a reminder I have a voice – that I am a tiger, hear me roar!

I Compare Myself To The Horse – The Spirit Of Freedom
My most beloved art pieces are of horses.
A reoccurring dream I have is being surrounded by horses. Yet, I am incapable of getting up on the horse. I can’t stay on the horse and ride.
My childhood dream is to own my own horse, retire and grow old together.
While I feel connected to bald eagles – every time I see one – I know all will be well.
The horse truly is my Spirit Animal.
I would write in depth on the emotional significance this has for me, nonetheless, the short version is quite simple:
The Spirit to Run; To Be Free.
Freedom to be authentically me.
