Caninephilia Fete – Canine – Latin word for dog. Philia – Ancient Greek word for love. Fete – A celebration or festival.

Caninephilia Fete will be an international day of celebration for dogs and the humans who love them.

The Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Campaign becomes the Caninephilia Fete Kettle Campaign – raising money for community dog shelters and dog rescue organizations.

Dog Shelters and Dog Rescue Organizations plan for Caninephilia Fete, along with community support to raise money and awareness to stop animal abuse.

All Service Dogs – Hearing, Guide, Allergy, Autism, Seizure, Mobility Assistance, Diabetic Alert, Therapy, Assistive Living, Seizure Response – and those they support visit schools to educate and inspire how dogs enhance our lives.

Dogs & Defence – Military personal with Service Dogs who help veterans heal visit schools to tell their stories of recovery with the aid of their loyal and loving companion.

Four Legged Fighters – Tactical K-9, Search Dogs, Military Working Dogs (MWD) – Soldiers and their K-9 partners visit schools on this day to educate students about military working dogs who serve alongside troops to defend the country.

And finally, in a perfect world, everyone can bring their dogs to work this day – or have the option to have the day off with pay to spend it with their beloved dogs.
