How Zoom Changed My Sobriety Experience

I live in a remote area and after a full day of work, running errands, driving home, unpacking from the day, making supper, cleaning up, preparing for the next work day, and any adulting I have left to do in the evening – I am ready for bed by 8:00pm rather than skipping the after supper adulting responsibilities to drive back into town to go to an hour meeting that would get me home close to 9:00pm.

12-Step programs say I need to be willing to go to any lengths for my sobriety. I agree.

But, I am a morning person, not a night owl.

Eventually, living where we do, my recovery would start to suffer.

But with Zoom:

  • I can attend a 12-Step meeting every day of the week
  • I can get the sleep my mind and body needs
  • I am rested to practice the 12-Step principles in all my affairs

12-Step Zoom meetings have truly improved my ability to stay sober.
