5 Principles of Reiki
Just for today, I will not worry
Just for today, I will not be angry
Just for today, I will do my work honestly
Just for today, I will be kind to all living things
Just for today, I will be grateful for my many blessings
I often think about why I work so hard on myself to always be better.
I know how part of this is the shame-based belief there is something inherently flawed with me. That the harder I try to be better, I will eventually not be flawed.
Yet, it’s a truism that to be human is to be flawed.
To be human is to: make mistakes, struggle with addictions, hurt other people and ourselves. We can act selfishly and aggressively. We stumble and fall.
When I confront those actions and inner beliefs that do not align with my values, I demonstrate growth. This is how I move towards my best self.
But, I can also slow down, take a breath, and see the beauty already within me.
Today, I will not worry. I am not flawed. I am human.
I am beautifully imperfect.
