During these Trump days of Tariff threats, I am reminded of what it was like to live in Qatar during the Blockade – when Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt cut ties with Qatar.
I am hopeful Canada will come together as a country to stand tall and proud, united and make history, like never before.

I Won’t Forget June 5th, 2017
I was at work when news was suddenly spreading that Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt had cut ties with Qatar.
Fear was my response.
What would happen?
How would life change?
Food shortages – mainly chicken and milk – was the public’s immediate fear response.
But quickly my fear and everyone else’s passed as life didn’t change.
Milk and chicken imported from Türkiye filled the grocery store fridges!
Thank you Türkiye!

5 Months Later
And, here we are, going into the fifth month since that day in June.
Qatar now produces its own milk.
I also enjoy the milk from Lebanon and Iran!
Thank you!
Recently The Emir Was On 60 Minutes
Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani – 60 Minutes
I watched this interview with pride.
Since the blockade, the Emir started making random public appearances to connect with his people and his people responded back showing their support.
The Emir’s portrait decorates vehicles, in malls, in souqs, store windows, t-shirts, car stickers, on towers, too.

Qatar Show Its Thanks To Sheikh Tamim

It is an interesting time to live in Qatar during the blockade.
To live in a Middle Eastern country that is standing strong to maintain its independence during this blockade is to be a part of history in the making.
Thank you Sheikh Tamim!

Beautiful! When something doesn’t come we find different ways and that is what happened!
Exactly! 😊🌻
