5 Principles of Reiki

Just for today, I will not worry

Just for today, I will not be angry

Just for today, I will do my work honestly

Just for today, I will be kind to all living things

Just for today, I will be grateful for my many blessings

This morning I’m thinking about rejuvenation, transformation, and healing.

I’ve been consciously working on myself for 22 years.

In 1997 I checked myself into a 28 day program for alcohol addiction.

At that time, mental health diagnoses was also put on the table.

Today, in 2019, I still struggle with my drinking.

Today, in 2019, I still wrestle with my mental health.

I seem to be at another cross road.

I can’t seem to find what works.

I feel an inward block that has been impassable since 1997, and I don’t know what this is.

Today, I will let go and hope I will one day finally be at peace.

S, 🌻

Update: In February of 2022, my mental health struggles were finally solved. This resolution came when I was properly diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder and Histrionic Personality Disorder. With proper therapy, this diagnoses turned my life around. Then, I eventually had space to surrender and accept I was an alcoholic. August 1st, 2025 I celebrate 2 years of continuous sobriety.

I’m a Reiki Master Teacher of Usui Shiki Ryoho – the Usui System of Natural Healing.

In 2017 and 2018, Reiki Master Teacher Erica Blackburn attuned me in Levels I, II, and IIIA in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

In 2019, while in Mararikulam, India, I re-attuned in Levels I, II, and IIIA. In addition, Reiki Master Teacher VP Rajasekharan also attuned me as a Level IIIB Master Teacher.
